“Our daughter was hurting and she felt so alone. We knew she needed help that we just didn’t know how to give her. As she started meeting with her counselor, Kelli, we started seeing her light start to come back again. She left her counseling sessions with hope. She truly values that time with Kelli, where she can be completely open, while at the same time being completely accepted. I’m so glad that we made the decision to start counseling at HopeWorks.” — parent of young client

Kelli received her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas, with an additional emphasis in counseling. She earned her master’s degree in Biblical Counseling from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Kelli felt God calling her into the counseling field after experiencing her own healing through counseling during her transition into college. She has a heart for adolescents and young adults who are struggling with adjusting to new stages in life, and she desires to help empower clients to see themselves as God sees them.
In addition to the varied areas of concentration below, Kelli is trained in play therapy. She holds certification for MarriageStrong, and is committed to building marriages for life and leadership by helping couples develop valuable relationship skills. She also holds certification for Prepare/Enrich Marriage Counseling, an inventory for couples to discover compatibility in many areas.
During her internship with Innovation 360, the process of striving for a life of purpose and meaning, Kelli has co-led many group therapy sessions and has observed the benefits that can occur in a group setting. She also learned how to provide opportunities for clients to learn healthy coping mechanisms by modeling healthy behavior and by encouraging positive change.
Kelli has a passion for meeting new people and spreading God’s joy. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing with kids, dancing, being around animals, doing crafts, staying active and watching movies.
